Adesua Etomi is among one of the top actresses in Nigeria. The actress who acted in the Wedding Party first graced the Nollywood industry in 2014 in the movie “Knocking on heaven’s door”.
She was born to an Esan father and a Yoruba mother in Owerri, Imo State on February 22, 1988. Her father is a soldier with the Nigerian Army and her mother a civil engineer. She is the youngest of three children. She first started her acting career at the early age of 7, when she joined the drama group at the Corona School Victoria Island, Lagos where she had her primary education. She went further to pursue her secondary education at the prestigious Queens College Lagos where she obtained her West African Senior School Certificate.

She relocated to the United Kingdom at the age of 13 where she furthered her education. She studied physical education, Performing Arts and Musical Theatre at the City College Coventry, the United Kingdom where she earned triple distinctions. While studying at the university she began to work with some production companies, which made her pursue a degree in Drama and Performance from the University of Wolverhampton where she graduated with first-class honors in 2009 and also won “The Foursight Theatre Award”.

She returned back to Nigeria in 2012 and began her acting career in Nigeria when she featured in her first movie “knocking on heaven’s door”. She also played a role in the short film “Brave” and the TV Series “Gidi Up” which made her very popular on Africa Magic.
The actress has shown a strong commitment to her career and works hard so it came as no surprise when she won the award for the best actress in a drama for her role in the movie “Falling” at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award thanks to her professional contribution in the movie alongside the likes of Desmond Elliot and Majid Michel.
She has starred in over 50 movies such as The Wedding Party, a Soldier’s Story, Out of Luck, 10 days in Sun City, The Call, Brave, MTV Base Suga where she played the role of Sheila in season 4 and 5 of the series dedicated to Hiv/Aids awareness and prevention.
2017, was a beautiful year for the Actress as she accepted the proposal of her boyfriend Nigerian Ace RnB sensation Banky Wellington (Banky W). The pair tied the knot at a Lavish Wedding on the 19th of November 2017. The wedding reception was attended by top dignitaries who included politicians, Government officials, Celebrities from the Nigerian Entertainment Industry and friends. The Actress and Wife is said to be worth $500,000 USD.
The actress also has numerous awards and accolades for her outstanding acting performance. She won the Most Promising Actress at the 2014 edition of the Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards and also won the Best New Actress at the same awards. Other awards include Golden actress in a lead role at the Golden Movies award in 2015. In the same year, she won the best new actress at the city people’s award, female viewer’s choice at the Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards, Best actress at the Golden Icon Academy Awards and Best actress of the year at the Eloy Awards.
She also bagged numerous awards in 2016 and 2017 including the Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (2016) and the Best Actress Award in Drama and Television at the 2017 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
